The article considers the digital economy as the main factor in the development of small and medium-sized businesses. The programs of the digital economy of various foreign countries were explained. Methods of effective development of the digital economy are studied. The importance of the digital economy in modernizing traditional industries and services is emphasized. Mixed financial transactions have organized by continuous penetration of information in technologies and its role in the development of small and medium-sized businesses have described. In Kazakhstan, the problems of introduction and dissemination of the digital economy in the sphere of small and medium-sized innovative entrepreneurship are discussed: the lack of infrastructure to promote domestic developments, underestimation of innovative activity by domestic entrepreneurs. The digital economy characterized as one of the manifestations of scientific and technological development of Kazakhstan. It provides for a significant favorable impact of digitalization on the development of small and medium-sized innovative entrepreneurship in Kazakhstan. In the digital economy, the main attention paid to one of the most important conditions for the effective development of the leading branches of human activity - the formation of an appropriate institutional environment. Economic security of each country is determined by array of different factors. Some factors seem obvious and are measurable, while other factors, such as entrepreneurship and, especially social entrepreneurship, are tacit and hard to measure. Anyway, social entrepreneurship is accepted globally as a bridge between business and benevolence. It attempts to find solution to local sustainability issues that are normally not addressed by traditional organizations. The problems faced by the Middle East society in general and Saudi Arabia in particular is unique in nature. Most of such problems cannot be addressed by the Government or the traditional organisations. The utility of social entrepreneurship arises here. There are many social enterprises in Saudi Arabia that have succeeded in nurturing a band of new leaders who are attempting to enhance the region’s global competitiveness, with a social touch. The present paper presents a few social entrepreneurs who have made their mark in Saudi society, and provides suggestions for nurturing and sustaining social entrepreneurships.
Regional economic performance is positively linked to entrepreneurship capital because it creates new direction for public policy that focuses on instruments to enhance entrepreneurship capital. However, studies related to Entrepreneurship and Innovation had somewhat established a disadvantage position for knowledge-intensive enterprises located in rural area.
The EU Smart Specialization approach supports the promotion of innovation activities in regions and embraces the concept of open innovation, not just investment in R&D but a system approach that exploits complementarities, promises high potential, are new and aimed at experimenting and discovering technological and market opportunities that can provide learning spill overs to other economy.
This paper present a case study of an Estonian production company for Maritime function wear. This example reveals that despite the fact that the company’s headquarters is located in Western Estonia countryside (peripheral part of Europe and rural part of the country) an enterprise can gain the position of an international market leader based on inter-regional operations. The discussed model highlights how high – tech enterprises can benefit from different smart specialization strategies in different regions by implementing organizational innovation strategies. The underlying business concept and its related success factors, exhibits strong affinities with the concept of smart production and logistics in relationship with fractal enterprises, paved way for a sustainable development and demonstrated that even in rural areas high – tech entrepreneurship can be successfully implemented.
This article analyses the concept of tax system in terms of entrepreneurship promotion given the fact that more and more attention is recently paid to entrepreneurship and promotion of it precisely through the national tax system. This article seeks to prove that: tax system is one of the economic entities’ operating conditions enabling to promote or suppress entrepreneurship in the country; both self-employed persons and companies can be entrepreneurial entities; in any case, a state, in promoting or suppressing their entrepreneurship, thus, influences the national economy and its changes.
The present article is to examine benefits of social capital for innovation capabilities in the modern business world. First of all, the concept of social capital and its role are defined referring to a set of scientists’ interpretations on social capital and economic/ social development. This chapter allows an ingenious acknowledgement of the added-value of social capital to companies. The main patterns of innovation capabilities are revealed, followed by the methodology and research results presented. The paper emphasizes social capital as a driving factor for organizations while conducting innovations. In line with such elements of social capital as trust, social networks and norms that emerge as the driving factors within the literature review, the research, based on the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) methodology, mainly focuses on three elements of social capital: trust, norms and networks in Lithuanian companies. The research question: how such social capital elements as trust, norms and networks help organizations to innovate sustainably.
